After several exciting collaborations with the heroines from Sailor Moon, it looks like Skechers isn’t about to break that anime streak any time soon. The latest Skechers X One Punch Man matches the fun fighting spirit of the Japanese manga and anime series, with eye-catching colours and familiar motifs inspired by the characters, including Saitama himself, of course. Consisting of both sneakers and apparel, the collection is set to launch on 18 January 2021.
At the core of the collection are four styles of sneakers for men and women, of Skechers’ chunky Stamina 2.0 silhouette that’s popular for its street-style vibe. The colourways of yellow/red, navy/black, purple/black, and green, correspond to the characters Saitama, Genos, Sonic, and Tornado respectively. Not surprisingly, their signature colours can be spotted from a mile away, since they run along the panelling of each sneaker, while the ‘One Punch’ icon can be found on the shoe tongue.
Elsewhere, the collection also features four hoodie designs and one pullover, in the same coordinating colours so you can rock a matching set. These oversized designs are further adorned with symbols and cartoons of the four characters; Saitama’s hoodie, for instance, sees the phrase ‘最强の男’ (The Strongest) on the front, along with the ‘One Punch’ icon and his name (サイタマ/Saitama) along the sleeves. More apparel will be introduced in March 2021.
