A Tour Of Little Farms Katong — Their Largest Grocery Store Yet That’s Now In The East

As far as gourmet supermarkets go, Little Farms has been making a name for itself here, thanks to the range of fresh, seasonal produce they carry — many of these happen to be natural and organic food too, which explains their “healthy eats” reputation. Since the first-ever store at Valley Point Shopping Centre in 2016, numerous other outlets have since sprung up, and it seems like they’re not stopping any time soon.

East-siders, you may now rejoice! Little Farms is here with its fifth and largest outlet yet, located along Joo Chiat Road, and occupying a substantial 6,000 sq ft at Katong Point. Beyond just a supermarket, the new space also offers a bistro, butcher counter, and bar, all under one roof.

True to their name, the fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, dairy, and more you can find at every Little Farms outlet, are curated and sourced directly from independent suppliers and farmers in Australia, Europe and other parts of the world. These are presented to us at the peak of their freshness, so we can embrace natural and unprocessed foods as much as possible.

As for the Katong outlet, it now carries the largest range of organic and seasonal fruits and vegetables in the east of Singapore. The selection includes grass-fed beef at their in-house butcher, presented in clean cuts or prepped and marinated for you to cook up a storm at home. Exclusive to Little Farms is also Mount Barker’s free-range chicken and pork, air-flown directly from Australia and delivered fresh, not frozen.

Wander casually through the aisles, and you’ll also find an interesting selection of gourmet cheeses, gluten-free and vegan products, plant-based meat, as well as other artisanal brands you won’t typically find in other supermarkets — there’s even a bakery offering up fresh sourdough bread daily.

Since this is Little Farms’ F&B concept space after all, you’re getting a full shopping experience. Right by the entrance, you’ll come across a coffee kiosk island, so you can start your journey with a latte, juice, or smoothie. At the end of your grocery shopping, you may also dine at the accompanying casual bistro, open day and night, which serves mains such as salads, steaks, and fresh pasta. There’s even a bar to look forward to as well, where you can get your fix of draft beer, craft cocktails, and their range of artisanal wines.

Ahead of its official launch on 13 March 2021, we managed to go on a tour of the fresh space — scroll ahead for some of the most interesting items we discovered at Little Farms Katong.
