After what may have been a strange 2020, Esplanade invites you to step back to the good ol’ days to celebrate Singapore music icons of yesteryear at their annual celebration of evergreens — A Date With Friends!
Happening from 25 to 28 March 2021, the 16th edition of A Date With Friends promises an exciting mix of online livestream sessions and in-venue concerts as well as workshops that the young and eternally young-at-heart can enjoy.
These programmes include the online Kombucha Brewing workshop and a nostalgic music session full of Hong Kong television series and movie theme songs from the 1970s to 1980s, which you can enjoy physically as part of the pilot trial in-venue program that allows audience admission in line with safe distancing measures.

The Young Ones: A Tribute to Cliff Richard and The Shadows
Join Dimension5 and their special guest Winston Koh of The Phantoms for a night of unforgettable hits from Cliff Richard & The Shadows with songs like Summer Holiday, Move It and The Young Ones!

The Lady And The Flower
Get set for a nostalgic night of tunes from the 1970s and 1980s with local music icon Rahimah Rahim and Fathin Amira as they celebrate life and art through their favourite songs that hold a special significance to them.

Kombucha Brewing: A Glass a Day Keeps the Body Okay
Learn how to safely make your own kombucha at home with one of Singapore’s best kombucha tastemakers, Melissa Mak, in a 10-minute online session.

Acoustic Nostalgia
Journey down memory lane with the Singapore Char Siew Baos as they cover pop, rock, folk and jazz numbers from the 1960s and 1970s. This pilot trial in-venue performance will be open for up to 100 audience members with seats available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Nostalgic Hong Kong Theme Songs
Relive classic moments with theme songs from your favourite 1970s and 1980s Hong Kong television series and movies. This pilot trial in-venue performance will be open for up to 100 audience members with seats available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Advisory For Pilot Trial In-Venue Performance
Each performance under the pilot trial follows specific guidelines on audience capacity and admission, in line with safe management measures. Unless otherwise stated, audiences will not be required to go through any pre-event Antigen Rapid Test.
However, all visitors and patrons will be required to follow the necessary precautionary measures at Esplanade, including:
⚠️ Temperature screening and the use of the TraceTogether application or token for SafeEntry at all entrances to Esplanade
⚠️ A one-metre distancing for visitors who are standing in queue or seating at performances
⚠️ Seating capacity for performances will also be limited according to government advisories
