A wardrobe full of Simone Rocha’s romantic pieces is highly possible with this upcoming H&M collaboration. Not gonna lie, we love the high street fashion’s yearly designer collections for nailing the runway aesthetic at affordable prices — and if you’ve noticed, these are typically released around November every year, except in 2020. Better late than never though! This highly-anticipated collection will be launched 11 March this year, both in stores and online.
If you’re familiar with Irish designer Simone Rocha, you’ll know that she loves working with tulle and voluminous silhouettes, which still manage to look ethereal and very apt for frolicking about the English countryside. Her signature shapes and fabrications, including Tudor-inspired wear and sweet florals, are clearly reflected here.
What you’ll notice across the womenswear apparel are these: tiered tulle dresses, puff sleeves and bubble skirts, romantic detailing with lots of pink and pearls and broderie anglaise, but a little punk-rock tartan as well. Apron tops and dresses in tulle are made to be layered, and finished off with bow details.
Even the accessories are just as eye-catching as they are complementary. These statement pieces include feathery slides and pearl-embellished brogues, worn alongside glass beaded earrings, hairslides, and oversized bow hairclips, though we have to say, the neoprene bubble bags with bow details on the sides are not to be missed.
This collection also marks the first time that the designer is venturing into menswear and childrenswear. For the menswear debut, these are fun takes on the classics, such as a pearl embellished collar on a shirt, or a tartan coord. While the women’s dresses occasionally veer more into occasionwear, or the most fancy casual events if you so desire, the menswear pieces feature more relaxed styles including drawstring trousers and t-shirts, as well as Aran knits and cardigans. As for the kids, many of these are mini versions of her classic smocks and frill dresses, which make for the cutest family portraits.
