Onitsuka Tiger releases 3 new sandals to love and hate

Last month, adidas gave us the YEEZY FOAM RUNNER, which is a slip-on shoe with die-cuts for breathability. The jury is still out on whether those shoes are ugly, but they do look comfortable. This month, Onitsuka Tiger joins the conversation with three new strappy sandals that are hybrid models.

There’s the DENTIGRE STRAP, which is described as a combination of “a lightweight look with a rugged yet comfortable sole”. The iconic Onitsuka Tiger logo is applied to the straps as a bold accent, and the hook-and-loop fastener is perhaps the main draw of this shoe, making it convenient to put on and take off, as well as adjust the fitting.

The two other sandals are part of the OHBORI™ EX range that was released in Onitsuka Tiger’s last collection; they include the OHBORI™ STRAP, a strappy slip-on similar to the DENTIGRE version, and the OHBORI™ SLIDER, which is as its name suggests, a slider and with a padded upper inspired by the archive model and two belts that allow for the fitting to be easily adjusted.

While you might be tempted to just wear these to the market (and there’s nothing wrong with that), try styling them with your daily basics, like jeans, shirt dresses, or like in the campaign image — with high socks.

The Onitsuka Tiger DENTIGRE STRAP ($229), OHBORI STRAP ($149), and OHBORI SLIDER ($149) are now available at Onitsuka Tiger Ngee Ann City, Jewel Changi Airport, Suntec City and online at ONITSUKATIGER.COM.
