One of the most iconic sneakers from adidas Originals, the Stan Smith, is getting a makeover — in more ways than one. Those classic white court sneakers, along with its signature three perforated stripes, should already be familiar to you, though it’s now reimagined with beloved Disney characters. From Peter Pan‘s Tinkerbell and Pixar’s Wall-E, to Marvel’s mighty hero Hulk, and even Kermit the Frog, each piece is undeniably unique as the characters influence the playful prints, embossed details, and other design elements you’ll find on the new shoes.
On top of that, this is a sustainably-made collection that celebrates our favourite green heroes, and is part of the brand’s effort to fight against plastic waste. The special-edition sneakers each feature a white PRIMEGREEN upper, made from at least 50% high-performance recycled materials, while still retaining the smooth look and feel of leather. That, and recycled rubber outsoles that accompany the phrase “It’s Not Easy Being Green” embossed across both heel tabs.
Of the various designs, the latest line of Stan Smith sneakers is given new life by the beloved Kermit the Frog, first on two clean white-and-green designs, either with a subtle portrait or Kermit’s name embossed on the heel. This is followed by two other variations that bring in a pink tongue and an all-over Kermit print across the shoe.
The others take on the silhouette in creative ways too — we see a line of illustrated Wall-E prints at the side of a shoe that’s paired with yellow accents; Mike Wazowski of Monsters, Inc. turns up on an off-white base paired with a slime-green midsole; while Tinkerbell’s fairy-like kicks feature pastel ombré laces and a matching heel tab. One pair pays homage to good old Groot with a gold-accented graphic on the side, as well as a cork midsole. For the coloured versions, we get Hulk’s iconic phrase “Hulk Smash!” on a black and green model, just as an entire green shoe gets the embossed reptilian treatment, based off Rex from Toy Story.

If you’re more of a classic white sneaker kind of person, adidas Originals still carries the timeless Stan Smith look, now with a white recycled PRIMEGREEN upper and a white recycled rubber outsole, complemented by the archetypal green heel tab. There’s also news of an upcoming adidas Originals Stan Smith silhouette, inspired by Yoda from Star Wars™, which will launch at a later date.
