Converse x PLAY Comme des Garçons Chuck 70s, Now In Blue Quartz And Steel Gray

Blue and grey. Perhaps a little dreary for the season, though in the fashion world, these are the timeless shades we can always count on — that, and the fact that the iconic heart-and-eye emblem helps lift the mood of this fun crossover. Back for another one of their long-standing collaborations, the Converse x PLAY Comme des Garçons is here in two new colourways, Blue Quartz and Steel Gray, now seen on the Chuck 70 silhouette. The new kicks will be available at Dover Street Market Singapore and Comme des Garçons stores, from 3 June.

We’re all probably familiar with the Chuck 70s, which compared to the All Stars, feature a thicker canvas and higher rubber foxing among other refinements; the shoe also plays up on vintage vibes with a yellowish-tinted rubber, similar to that of aged sneakers.

This latest CDG series is done in the vein of their other collaboration sneakers, where a black heart-and-eye logo is plastered over the 12oz canvas upper, on both Hi and Ox styles. As for the campaign, it captures the spirit of the shoes with images, and an accompanying video, by LA-based creative Sean Lew. The professional choreographer and dancer wrote, directed and starred in a performance that led to the series of dynamic shots you see here.
