Even after unveiling their S21 series earlier this year, Samsung definitely does not show any signs of slowing down their mobile innovation.
Just announced yesterday during their highly-anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event, the Korean tech giant opened the next chapter in their foldable devices category with the unveiling of two new smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip3, as well as accompanying smart wearables — the enhanced Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Buds2.
If you didn’t manage to catch the event last night, here’s what you need to know about the four new Samsung products, set to release in Singapore in early September.
SAMSUNG GALAXY Z FOLD3
If you’ve never really been sold on the idea of a foldable phone, perhaps the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 (from $2,398) might change your mind. Building on the concept of the predecessor, the Z Fold2, the all-new device promises uninterrupted, theatre-like viewing experiences on its 7.6-inch Infinity Flex Display, which has been improved upon with the new Under display camera technology — which basically camouflages the camera hole to match the colour of the display so that it blends in nicely.
What may have once been considered a glaring display flaw has now been corrected as the Z Fold3 now features an increased viewable area that does not break up the canvas of your favourite apps. A new Eco display technology is also applied to the screen, making it 29% brighter while consuming less energy. Smoother scrolling and quick device interaction with a Super Smooth 120Hz adaptive refresh rate have also been made possible on both the Main and Cover screens.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 also comes with enhanced Flex mode features which allow you to do more at once, such as joining a video call on the top screen and taking down meeting notes at the bottom, as well as an updated Multi-Active Window, which lets you multi-task on the device’s large screen. And, for the first time ever in the Galaxy Z series, the Z Fold3 will come with the popular S Pen functionality where you can enjoy all the advantages of the S Pen on the unfolded large display and foldable display.
SAMSUNG GALAXY Z FLIP3
The compact Galaxy Z Flip3 (from $1,398) has been redesigned to include a Cover Screen that is now four times larger for easy viewing of notifications and messages without the need to extend the phone to its full size. As part of this upgrade, there are also convenient Cover Screen widgets that let you keep up with your schedule, check the weather, monitor your daily step count, and use Samsung Pay directly.
As the Z Flip range is best known for its capability in capturing and sharing memories, the Z Flip3 is built with some of Samsung’s latest camera features that include the ability to take great selfies hands-free with the Flex Mode. You can even keep the device folded for a quick photo and video from the Cover Screen using enhanced Quick Shot simply by double-clicking the power key.

Instead of having to extend the Z Flip3 to its full length all the time, you can now enjoy your apps and videos, even when the device is partially folded with the new Flex Mode Panel. This mode promises new ways to interact with your Z Flip3 by offering a more convenient (and hands-free) viewing experience that moves the video to the top half of the screen and the controls, like the brightness and volume, to the bottom half of the screen.
SAMSUNG GALAXY WATCH4 AND WATCH4 CLASSIC
Aimed at reshaping your smartwatch experience, the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 (from $398) and Watch4 Classic (from $548) marks the new era in smartwatch innovation as the first series to come equipped with One UI Watch, and feature the all-new Wear OS that is powered by Samsung and built-in partnership with Google. The new OS lets you tap into an expansive ecosystem of Samsung and Google apps without your phone, and even includes support for third-party apps that are available from the Google Play store.
Built with advanced hardware performance, the Galaxy Watch4 series comes with the most holistic suite of health and wellness features which includes the 3-in-1 BioActive Sensor that uses a single chip to precisely run three powerful health sensors which help to observe Optical Heart Rate, monitor blood pressure with Electrical Heart and Bioelectrical impedance Analysis, detect an AFib irregular heartbeat, measure your blood oxygen level, and calculate your body composition.
The all-new Body Composition measurement tool gives you a deeper understanding of your general health and fitness, providing you with key measurements in areas such as your skeletal muscle, basal metabolic rate, body water, and body fat percentage.
SAMSUNG GALAXY BUDS2
Designed for a comfortable fit with an iconic curved shape, that is made to be worn all day for premium sound quality enjoyment, the Galaxy Buds2 ($248) are Samsung’s smallest and lightest earbuds yet in their Galaxy Buds line-up.
The buds are built with dynamic two-way speakers that deliver crisp, clear high notes and a deep bass with Active Noise Cancellation that helps to block out up to 98% of background noise. An ambient sound mode with three adjustable sound levels is also available for you to hear your surroundings, especially when you are commuting or on a coffee run.
With the Buds2, you can expect your voice to come across much clearer, thanks to the new machine-learning-based solution which filters out a variety of distracting background noises using the three-microphone system and Voice Pick Up Unit (VPU) to maximise call quality.

You can now pre-order the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip3 5G (online without contract), the Galaxy Watch4 Classic, Galaxy Watch4, and Galaxy Buds2 online through the Samsung Online Store, the Samsung Official Store on Lazada and Shopee, or in person at the Samsung Experience Stores.
Collection and delivery for pre-ordered devices will start from 2 September 2021, and all devices will be officially in stores from 10 September 2021 islandwide.
