More Fall/Winter beauty drops to covet? You bet — and we’re once again tempted by YSL Beauty’s gorgeous new makeup launches, which are a sight to behold. The first one’s a cushion compact complete with black-and-gold marble casing — and surprise, an innovative marble effect on the inside too, thanks to how the cushion combines both a skincare essence and long-lasting foundation into what they’re calling the Encre de Peau Marble Essence Creampact.
As for a daring eye palette of unconventional yet easy-to-match shades, the intense colours on the Couture Colour Clutch Palette Tuxedo, part of the Le Smokey Eye 2021 collection, represents the best of this season’s must-have tones, including a bold blue and pleasant plum. 1. Encre de Peau Marble Essence Creampact
How classy-looking is that marble casing and marble-effect foundation? Once we get past how absolutely smitten we are by its appearance though, there’s a lot to love about the formula of the essence-enriched cushion compact as well.
The makeup-skincare hybrid is a high-coverage, buildable foundation with a dewy matte finish, and feels extra fresh on the skin due to a creamy formula that’s infused with 65% skincare essence — this sees ingredients such as Vitamin C and E, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide, along with Jasmine extract harvested from YSL Beauty’s Ourika Community Gardens, in order to keep our skin healthy and glowing throughout the day.
Its high coverage is to be praised as well, and the foundation promises a seamless and smooth finish that minimises the appearance of pores, on top of being effortlessly long-lasting. A new uniquely-shaped applicator is also present, designed for mixing the two components of the marble formula, while offering thinner edges so we can better reach all angles of the face, especially around the nose and the eye contours.

2. Le Smokey Eye 2021 Collection
Meant for bold eyes that bring the drama, YSL Beauty’s latest Le Smokey Eye collection includes both an eye palette and a mascara for you to flaunt various eye looks. Designed by Tom Pecheux, you’re free to create everything from an everyday look to a more mysterious one with the Couture Colour Clutch Palette Tuxedo, as the eyeshadows picked out here expertly accommodate a range of preferences.
These are housed in YSL’s iconic clutch design — making the palette a chic accessory on its own — while its interior holds 10 buttery shades that take us from neutral browns and earthy tones, to a striking blue and khaki that can be artfully applied to elevate your usual subtle fare. Either way, they’re made to be blended easily in order to create intense, smokey eyes.
For the new Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils, we like how it’s the ideal companion to a lush set of eyes, since the mascara’s made to add depth and intensity. It offers nine times the volume of our natural lashes and long-lasting wear, in a classic black formula.
