The Latest G-SHOCK Watch Features A Two-Toned Purple and Blue Metal Case

A new two-toned G-SHOCK watch is here. The GMW-B5000PB joins Casio’s 5000 series of shock-resistant, full metal watches, with a purple and blue-gray ion plating (IP) finish that’s inspired by twilight hues of the Tokyo skyline.

The square face design is reminiscent of the first-ever G-SHOCK, though this is now in a full metal case; its bezel and band features a purple IP hue, which is done using a new technique that tunes the chroma and luminance of the material, and then paired with a blue-grey IP for a subtle contrast of colour. The metal here is mirror-finished, further enhancing its texture while bringing to mind the watch’s romantic inspiration. There’s even elements of Tokyo within the watch face — hints of orange and light blue reference the city lights during sunset, with the orange perhaps hinting at the iconic Tokyo Tower.

On top of that, expect high-tech features such as a Smartphone Link function that’s able to access Internet time servers for accurate times, as well as World Time, reminders, and alarms that can be set from a paired smartphone.

The G-SHOCK GMW-B5000PB watch, $899. available on gshock.casio.com/sg only for CASIO ID members and at all G-SHOCK stores from 24 September 2021.
