This Vans x Horror Collection Brings To Life Iconic Scenes From IT, The Shining, Friday The 13th, & More

It’s October, and you know what that means: Halloween. We’ve got a whole month ahead of us before the spooky festival descends on us on 31 October, and while recent year’s events may seem smaller-scale than before, sans the usual mayhem and mischief we’d usually partake in when bars and nightclubs were roaring with crowds, there’s still something to be said about a quiet evening with friends at home — especially when that sounds very much like the premise of a cult horror film.

To set the mood, Vans has also partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products for a series of sneakers and apparel that celebrate the most iconic horror classics, such as The Shining, IT, and A Nightmare on Elm Street. Oh hell, you bet we want to sink our claws into every one of these.

The inspirations behind the Vans x Horror collection are clearly emblazoned across footwear, t-shirts, and caps alike. You’ll spot the terrifying twins of The Shining on a pair of Vans’ Classic Slip-Ons, while they and a vintage wallpaper print also feature on a cotton long-sleeve t-shirt, as well a baby-blue cap topped off with a pink bow, of colours borrowed from their sweet but sinister frocks.

Men’s apparel sees a showdown between Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger, where we’ve got Jason’s iconic hockey mask from Friday The 13th, now glow-in-the-dark and on a long-sleeve tee with checkered sleeves in one corner, and Freddy’s claws stylishly ripping across a red-and-black crossbody pack in the other. Both styles are also reimagined on a Classic Slip-On and Sk8-Hi sneakers, even an Old Skool Backpack.

Elsewhere, we’ve also got a pair of Vans Era in a classic checkerboard print, though mashed up with red balloons from clown horror film IT; a The Lost Boys-inspired Style 47 Creeper, an aptly-named shoe style that will transport you straight to Santa Carla in the 80s; as well as a monochrome Old Skool sneaker that bears a creepy scene from The Exorcist. Call us possessed obsessed.
