All the sets from LEGO’s Year of the Tiger Lunar New Year collection

Every Chinese New Year, LEGO comes up with a series of festive sets for everyone of all ages to build. For the Year of the Tiger, there’s a tiger (but of course), an Ice Festival, and a set celebrating Lunar New Year Traditions.

The LEGO Majestic Tiger ($79.90) includes 830 pieces that can be built into a fierce and powerful tiger, and can then be rebuilt into an adorable red panda or a lucky koi fish. There are even little bamboos for your panda to munch on.

Next we have the LEGO Lunar New Year Ice Festival ($149.90); it features a scene of a Spring Festival Ice Skating Park where children and adults celebrate Chinese New Year with various winter activities. There’s skating on the lake, playing hockey sledding with penguins, taking photos in a pavilion, shopping at the vendor’s cart, fishing for salmon (is it salmon?), playing with your iPhone (yes, there’s a figure with a phone), and there’s even a minifigure in a tiger suit.

Lastly, there’s the LEGO Lunar New Year Traditions ($99.90) with 1,066 pieces that you can build into six different festive activities. These include Spring Festival shopping, making auspicious decorations, visiting family, and exchanging red packets. There’s also a minifigure for the God of Wealth that sits in its own LEGO module.

The idea for this set is to build these together as a family and for children to learn about Chinese New Year traditions through the activities. Kids can role-play, pretend to spring clean and more. The builds are very realistic with even mom holding an iPhone while watching TV, and the young daughter holding her own orange phone with the chat message screen on.
