A special, limited edition Leica D-Lux 7 camera collab with A BATHING APE and American graffiti artist, STASH

Leica introduces a limited, special edition compact camera based off their popular D-Lux 7 model, the Leica D-Lux 7 “A BATHING APE®︎ X STASH”. This model is a culmination of street photography, streetwear and street art, and is offered in a black-finish variant that will retail at Leica stores, and a silver version that’s available exclusively through A BATHING APE®︎.

The camera is wrapped with BAPE’s signature ABC CAMO pattern, with the brand’s APE HEAD insignia on its top plate. It’s also marked with the distinctive wildstyle tag of American graffiti artist, STASH (aka Josh Franklin) on the front.

“When I started doing graffiti in the early 1980s, the term ‘street art’ didn’t exist. It was only later, when we emerged from the tunnels and train stations, that we became much more visible. Documenting my art through photography has always been part of my creativity. With the advent of digital cameras, I got my first Leica,” says STASH, on this collaboration with Leica and BAPE.

When designing this special edition of the Leica D-Lux 7, the Brooklyn-based artist incorporated both the famously graphic-heavy style of the BAPE® label, and his own distinctive visual approach. See all the official pics below.
