For almost any purpose of travel, you’ll need a decent sized bag that can keep all your essentials, and more. Personally, I love a good waist bag that I can sling crossbody. It’s hands-free, feels safe and secure, plus I can easily reach what I need. Now, if you’ve ever used a TUMI before, you’ll know that they make some of the best quality travel bags, which is why the Sloan Sling makes it to the top of this list.

It’s made of fabric that can repel water and is super light. I love how there’s a place for all of my things; it has one large main pocket, an internal zippered pocket, an internal key strap, a side pocket on one of its arms, and a back pocket. Other details that also make sense include double zips for the main compartment and an adjustable strap with speed clip. Perhaps best of all, the structured design is clean and utilitarian, and works with any outfit.
At $480, it’s quite an investment, but it’s a piece that’ll stay in your wardrobe forever.

CASETiFY Cases and Slings
CASETiFY has some of the strongest and most protective cases for the iPhone, and the number of designs and colours they are available in is mind boggling. You can find plain, minimalist designs, official collaboration designs (like those with Star Wars, Peanuts and Disney), or you can search “cat” and scroll to your hearts content at hundreds of pictures of your favourite furry creature ( yes I did that).

For travel, I would also suggest carting out their phone or utility straps for going hands free. These come with their universal Strap Card that works with all of their cases.

XOUXOU Cases and Straps
Another one of our favourite necklace straps is back with new colours and cases for the iPhone 14 series. XOUXOU‘s (pronounced shoo-shoo) signature Phone Necklace case has convenient and sturdy eyelets built into the case, and match perfectly with the brand’s series of straps. Native Union MacBook Pro Sleeve
I bring my laptop everywhere I go so a case or sleeve for it is necessary. I like the one from Native Union because it is sturdy and firm but still soft and smooth on the inside, fits the 14″ MacBook Pro perfectly, zips up securely, and comes in a sleek all-black design. Lazy Oaf Clothing and Accessories
Independent lifestyle brand, Lazy Oaf has some of the coolest — and most humorous — outfits. With every new release, we find ourselves wanting stuff — like this Happy Sad Mini Bag (£40) that’s a good size for passport, wallet and phone (and makeup!); plus this Happy Sad Fleece Scarf (£35) that’s super cosy, is 100% vegan, and has recycled woven labels.

VAGO Vacuum and Travel Bags
Unlike many people, I love packing for trips. I find it therapeutic to sort mini bags of travel essentials (like beauty and gadgets)w and to put together outfits for the days I’ll be abroad. For winter climates, I have to pack at least two puffy jackets for the kids to stay warm, and puffy jackets are the one thing that take up A LOT of space in my bag, and I always pack them into my carry-on so they can wear them immediately once we touch down.
I was introduced to VAGO from an industry friend who convinced me to try it (“You won’t regret it!”, he says). VAGO is one of the world’s smallest vacuuming devices that sucks all the air out of the zip bag (it comes in the box and you can buy these separately as well), compacting clothes so they become smaller in volume.

And I absolutely love it! It’s truly necessary for travelling, especially for someone like me who brings as few bags as possible. I tried the Medium bag with one of the puffy jackets and it shrunk its volume by half. Now thanks to VAGO, I won’t be carrying a duffel bag that looks like a giant ball.

Walch Multi-Purpose Wet Wipes
Walch has a whole range of wet wipes that are the perfect size for travel. These mini packets fit into the smallest of bags, with flushable versions and those specific for kids.
