Every season, our hearts brim with expectation of Uniqlo U‘s collection of modern, utilitarian, and effortless capsule wardrobe-worthy pieces — and thankfully, we’ve never been disappointed. Designed by Artistic Director Christophe Lemaire and his UNIQLO R&D team in Paris, this Spring/Summer 2023 collection takes on the theme of ‘A Sense of Ease’, which immediately recalls lightweight materials and a light colour palette of pastels, bright pops of green, orange, yellow, purple and pink, among neutrals of understated whites and beiges.
Launching in UNIQLO stores on 10 February, the Spring/Summer pieces feature soft, matte cotton and a refreshing AIRism cotton that make for breezy pieces; the tailoring for both men’s and women’s pieces follow suit, with sheer shirts or effortless parachute pants. There are also seersucker striped shirts, instant Summer classics, along with cotton shorts and a perfected men’s Crew Neck 3/4 Sleeve T-shirt with a boxy fit.
For women, we’re seeing more activewear, or perhaps athleisure wear, introduced, such as a seamless sleeveless t-shirt and leggings, styled with a relaxed parka that makes it instantly city-chic. Speaking of outerwear, the collection of versatile basics is just as big on jackets, parkas, and layering in general — though these differ from their Fall/Winter counterparts with more slouchy silhouettes and airy fabrics.
On the accessories front, the popular Drawstring Shoulder Bag returns for another season, with its signature drawstring closure that can be folded down on the roomy crossbody style. There’s also a new Bucket Bag, available in two sizes, that continue the collection’s utilitarian codes, along with BLOCKTECH Hats and Jet Caps.

The Uniqlo U Spring/Summer 2023 collection will be available from 10 February 2023, online and at the Orchard Central Global Flagship and ION Orchard stores.
