PUMA x SpongeBob SquarePants Gives Us Bright Yellow Sneakers And Bikini Bottom-Inspired Apparel

You don’t have to live in a pineapple under the sea to fall in love with this latest PUMA collection — though it does help if you love the cartoon character that does. PUMA has teamed up with SpongeBob SquarePants, the wildly animated sponge from the beloved Nickelodeon series, to present a playful series of classic silhouettes.

Shoes, track pants, bucket hats and more feature floral prints and sunny colours, bright yellow and pink included, as the creators imagine SpongeBob and his starfish companion Patrick going on a jellyfishing adventure.

We’ve got to talk about the footwear though, as PUMA adopts more than one silhouette in this extensive collection.

A whole suite of sneakers pay homage to SpongeBob and Patrick, starting with the PUMA Future Rider, Slipstream, and Suede. These come in SpongeBob yellow with little textural details that mimic that of a sponge; SpongeBob’s face is seen peeking out on their tongue tags as well, while each shoes features a character hangtag that doubles as a keychain attachment.

Patrick is obviously the inspiration for the Rider FV though, that sees pink suede uppers and a neon green trim, and as for the RS-Slide, its purple-aqua gradient and contrasting yellows certainly remind us of Bikini Bottom.

The footwear series is then complemented by apparel such as the T7 tracksuit with SpongeBob gallivanting beside the PUMA logo, t-shirts, hoodies, shorts, and accessories. Look out for the kids’ designs as well, and a series of green floral-print wear that take after Bikini Bottom’s flower-shaped clouds.
