Cool, chic and sexy. That’s the predominant vibe we got from Saint Laurent’s Spring/Summer 2023 runway, where Anthony Vaccarello envisions a minimalist set that focused on contrasts between translucent fabrics draped delicately across the body, alongside leather jackets and metallic accents in varying proportions. It’s this similar idea of contrast that we get from their key bag of the season too — the Small Kate Chain Bag.
Like previous silhouettes of the Kate, and named after imitable supermodel Kate Moss, the boxy front flap style is sharp and to-the-point, embellished with the signature YSL cassandre logo and a metal chain. This iteration though features a monochromatic twist, where glossy black spazzolato leather outer frames a white lambskin centre. Its jewel chain allows it to be worn on the shoulder, and while a play on contrasts, the result is more classy and sleek than one would expect — classic YSL, we say.
