Fujifilm's New Instax Share Smartphone Printer SP-2

Instax cameras can be so fun – especially those aesthetically pleasing polaroid pieces we all have on our walls or stashed somewhere in our wallets. However, the instant camera came with huge risks too; one wrong click and the photos will turn out to be a huge black mess. That’s why we were so thankful when Fujifilm blessed us with the Instax SHARE Smartphone Printer SP-1 back in 2014 that allowed us to print images from our phones, instantly. It’s as easy as it sounds – with just the printer and the instax share application, polaroid-style, credit card sized photos can be printed on the go.

This year, the smartphone printer receives an upgrade – with a new exposure system, expect to see higher image resolution and contrast, which means that photos will no longer be grainy. Also, with improved technology, you can now get your photos printed in just 10 seconds; a vast improvement from the previous version.
To make things even easier, the free Instax SHARE app has received the addition of new filters and templates, sparing us the effort and hassle of painstakingly editing photos in a third party application before sending them to print. Brightness, contrast and saturation can now be adjusted easily, and with templates such as the “collage template”, we’re able to combine up to four images into one instax photo.

The new Fujifilm printer has been given a refreshingly sleek makeover in colours silver and gold. It is also significantly smaller and lighter as well, making it a handy photo printer that you can always carry around – the perfect tool for emergency selfie sessions, just because.
