The Multipurpose Oil Emma Watson Swears By For All Hairy Situations

Emma Watson has shared plenty of her sustainable fashion favourites with us while promoting her new indie flick, Beauty and the Beast. What you probably might have noticed in her new eco-fashion Instagram feed is that she also champions green beauty, and have since introduced us to a slew of natural beauty brands we had never even heard of.
In a recent interview with chic beauty site Into the Gloss, Emma took us through her day-to-night beauty routine, and as one would come to expect, it’s a treasure trove full of the coolest, natural beauty products. One beauty item, however, definitely stood out amongst the others. The product in question is Fur Oil, an essential oil blend that was created to soften pubic hair and prevent ingrowns.

We’re all familiar with the benefits of facial oils and some of us are even addicted to them, but if you think the idea of using an oil to condition your hedges is all part of a practical joke, then let Emma Watson’s glowing testimony melt away the cognitive dissonance. She told Into the Gloss, “I’ll use that anywhere from the ends of my hair to my eyebrows to my pubic hair. It’s an amazing all-purpose product.”

Made with jojoba, grape seed, tea tree, and clary sage seed oils, you can apply this concoction directly onto your pubes after a bath or shower for a more manageable bush. Thanks to the tea tree oil in the mix, it also has antiseptic and antimicrobial properties that work to prevent ingrown hairs. Judging by the ingredients in the blend, we’d say it’s safe to use all over your face and body if you choose to, as grape seed and jojoba oils have been touted as some of the few comedogenic oils out there. It’s no wonder this is the brand’s hero product.
We’re also all on board with Fur’s ethos as well. In an interview with fashion publication Fashionista, Fur’s founder, Emily Schubert explained that she and her older sister Laura developed the brand to help locate that middle ground between the booming business of Brazilian waxing and the negatively portrayed au naturel image associated with non-shavers. “I started thinking about how women are treating their pubic area, and how it’s not really in line with what’s going on right now,” Emily rationalises. “Fur is [what’s on the] spectrum between having no hair and being unruly and unkempt. I feel like it’s that new wave of feminism. You care about yourself, but it’s more about you as a woman, not about men.” Any product that helps girls and women embrace their freedom to choose gets two thumbs up. Consider us sold.
