It’s literally every girl’s dream to be treated like royalty on her big day. If you haven’t seen the best wedding this year (sorry royal wedding), you might just fall head over heels for Chiara Ferragni and Fedez’s wedding.
On September 1st, Italian fashion designer, fashion It-Girl and The Blonde Salad founder, Chiara Ferragni, tied the knot with Italian rapper Fedez, at Dimora delle Balze, in Noto, Sicily. They flew 140 of their close friends and family over for the wedding, that took place right before sunset.
Known to be one of the most prominent personalities to launch a career from her personal blog, The Blonde Salad, Chiara has also collaborated and designed with other big brands such as Tod’s and Steve Madden. The fashion goddess has also appeared on over 50 magazine covers, including NYLON Singapore’s 37th Issue in November 2015. On top of that, she also has her own line of accessories that’s so cute and unique, we are literally obsessed with them!
Chiara Ferragni and Fedez’s wedding, otherwise known as #TheFerragnez wedding, was no doubt an ethereal beauty itself. But what struck us the most from her wedding in Noto, was not just the ringing of wedding bells but also the dresses that Chiara donned over the weekend.
Before the official ceremony, Chiara was seen in a customised Prada dress that came with gold and sparkly details for her rehearsal dinner at Palazzo Nicolaci. She kept it minimal with her accessories and hair as the dress spoke for itself, with details accentuating the bride’s radiant beauty.
But what really broke the Internet wasn’t just the Prada dress itself – in fact, it was Chiara Ferragni’s Dior Haute Couture dress. Psst! And did you know, it’s a haute couture dress because of the materials used to make, it’s 100% hand-sewn and it costs at least a million dollars!
Anyway, this headliner is made up of three parts – the custom-made bodysuit, a skirt which opens at the front and a veil. Now a dress this beautiful takes more effort than you think and watching the process of it being made definitely left us lost for words. Her bodysuit was made of 19th-century Irish crochet lace that was handsewn to perfection, alongside her hand-pleated skirt that’s made of 32 pieces of tulle.
Christian Dior even showed us behind the scenes footage of how this one of a kind dress was made (for those who are wondering).
The final dress that Chiara wore for her wedding day literally took the world by storm. The Dior haute couture dress with embroidery was simply a dress that was undeniably beautiful and unique to its own. Her favourite symbols like the lion, eye, and heart were handsewn to her dress, along with Fedez’s lyrics from his song “Favorisca i Sentimenti” that he performed for Chiara when he proposed to her. On top of that, this showstopping dress also came with a detachable skirt Chiara can detach from her original piece, transitioning it into a tulle skirt for the wedding’s after-party.
It doesn’t stop there. #TheFerragnez bridesmaids also got in with the action as they donned bold pink bridesmaids dresses that were custom-made by Alberta Ferretti.
What a beautiful and magical wedding indeed. Here’s wishing Chiara Ferragni and Fedez a blissful marriage and a wonderful future ahead!
