New day, new Hello Kitty launch — but don’t worry we’re not tired of the famous cat yet. From skincare and makeup to gaming gear, Hello Kitty is a perennial favourites in the hearts of Singaporeans, young and old, which is why local luxury leather brand Tocco Toscano has teamed up with Sanrio for their interpretation of the cute cartoon character.
The brand’s series of bags, pouches, and wallets are designed for everyday wear, with motifs such as Hello Kitty’s iconic bow done in a subtle embossed style that doesn’t take away from the sleek silhouette of each bag. To up the functional aspect, satchels and tote bags arrive with inner pockets for neat and easy access of your items, while their recently-beloved style, the Mobile Phone Bag, holds your smartphone as well as five other cards and cash. All the styles are available in an array of five colours: Cream, Scarlet, Black, Forest and Blush.
This limited-edition series is curated in collaboration with Sanrio, while we appreciate how it’s created for both closet and avid Hello Kitty fans. A Top Handle bag, for instance, features a statement-making top handle on a vintage-style silhouette, with only a textured monogram of Hello Kitty’s bow giving a clue to its inspiration — one may pick her signature red or girly blush to show off your love for the character, or stick to black and a cool-girl forest green for subtlety. You may also swap out the thin strap with the thicker Genki Bag Strap for a touch more streetwear edge.
Then, there’s the Satchel and the Micro with their more boxy, structured silhouettes, with a unique top opening secured by a twist clasp closure. These Tocco Toscano designs are accompanied by a wide selection of accessories for more matchy-matchy goodness, whether we’re talking about a passport case, bifold wallet, card case, bag charm, or coaster set.
Other details of note include the phrase “Ogenki Desu Ka” (how are you) in Japanese text across bag handles; Hello Kitty-embossed hardware on the zips and sides of the designs; and bold interior linings featuring Hello Kitty’s face in a pleasant, repeated pattern.

This launch also marks the brand’s official comeback after a four-year-long brand revamp, started since their move to online platforms and e-commerce in 2018. The brand had started out as a small leather workshop in Florence, Italy in 1987, where founder James Lor then grew it into a household leather label commonly featured across local department stores. Currently, it’s now helmed by second-generation entrepreneur Joseph Lor, with a focus on functional design and quality leather craftsmanship to meet the everyday needs of modern women.
