This Local Brand Has Created Lace Masks For Brides, Perfect For Special Occasions

Ever since face masks have been a staple wear in all of our wardrobes, many have started to find alternative options to switch their looks up with. And though these face masks are not a fashion accessory, they do still take up a considerable surface area on your face. Tutorials after tutorials of making your own face masks have circled ’round the Internet, but if you’ve yet to find one for a special occasion, let’s say your wedding, you might want to consider these new lace masks by Time Taken To Make A Dress.

A bespoke dressmaker brand selling masks? Now that’s new. The homegrown label, Time Taken To Make A Dress, first started in 2010, when the two Singaporean designers, Phay and Jade Swee, decided to pursue their passion in dressmaking without feeling confined within the limits of your typical bridal wear fashion.

Amid the coronavirus outbreak, many have had to postpone their wedding plans, but there are some who are still making things happen despite the pandemic. To address the needs of these brides, during these trying times, the label has decided to make their very own lace face masks for the big day.

A lace applique hand sewn to perfection from the centre of the mask gives the most flattering look that would go with any bridal gown with its 3-ply Polyester Organza that comes equipped with a slot to insert your own filters for added protection. The Organza — known as a low density fabric — gives a beautiful touch to your masks and it doesn’t compromise your own safety as well. These masks are also held by soft elastic ear bands that loop around the ears comfortably — reducing ear irritation even after continuous wear.

Measuring 14cm from your nose bridge to the bottom of your chin, these masks can also be customised according to your preference so that it would fit snugged to your face.

And even after the wedding, you can still wear this mask out for any occasion as long as you remember to give it a wash. Obviously for these delicate pieces, you should be mindful to treat it with extra care and give it a wash instead of throwing it into the washing machine. All you have to do is to simply add a dash of detergent to a washbasin or sink filled with cold water before submerging them to evenly distribute the detergent. Then, leave the mask to soak for up to 30 minutes, and follow through by rinsing it under cold water, until there are no traces of soap suds. After that, press the mask and leave it to dry — be sure to avoid wringing the mask to preserve its delicate design.

These masks are still available for pre-order on Time Taken To Make A Dress’ Instagram in limited quantities — with their lace mask in white, going at $60, and the latest lace mask in blush going at $85. Orders are made through their Instagram DMs and they are selling out by the hour, so fastest fingers first!
