Fujifilm’s SQ10 SQUARE is a Digital Camera Made Specially For Instax Lovers

Instant photography lovers have plenty of reason to celebrate this week. Just yesterday, we announced that Lomography is turning back the clock by reviving the disposable camera with its “Simple Use Film Camera”. But apparently, Fujifilm is taking the opposite route and going full on high-tech with the SQ10 SQUARE – a hybrid camera that creates both instant AND digital photos.

This boxy-shaped gem of a photo-taking device is actually the world’s first Instax camera to incorporate a built-in digital camera, so that means that once you’ve shot a digital photo, you can then immediately print it out in true blue Instax style, either from the camera’s internal storage or from a memory card.
Before hitting that print button though, you can view your photos on a 3-inch colour LCD screen that has a resolution of 460K dots, while other neat specs to look forward to include automatic exposure control, facial recognition, a dual shutter system, built-in photo editing, and 10 different filters.

It looks pretty suave as well, coming in a solid shade of black for its body, although if that’s too plain for you, here are some stylish Instax case ideas if you want to spruce things up a little.
That being said, the SQSQUARE 10 will be the first Instax camera to use Fujifilm’s new Instax Square Film Format, which will set you back approximately $23.70 for a pack of 10; a little pricey if you ask us.
Also, it remains to be seen if all these features can hold off competition from the Polaroid Pop – a similarly designed hybrid cam that’s slated to be released at the end of 2017.
The SQ10 SQUARE is scheduled to be launched at the end of May for the price of $499, although you can get it for much cheaper thanks to e-commerce site Shopee, which is offering a pre-order rate of $399. But wait, it gets better. You can also use the promo code SQ10xNYL by May 31 and get an additional $20 off, so the SQ10 SQUARE will have a final price of $379, a total of $120 cheaper than the original retail price!
Till its release, you can find out more about the SQ10 SQUARE at Fujifilm’s website.
