Leaked iPhone 11 Images: Triple Cameras, 5G and Largest Screen Ever?

The Internet is dark and full of leaks, especially with three premium smartphone launches happening this year. We’ve had leaks from both the Google Pixel 4 and Galaxy Note 10, and now it’s the iPhone 11.

Here’s a quick summary:

  • Comes in 3 screen sizes of 5.8″, 6.1″ and 6.7″.
  • 5.8″ and 6.7″ device will support 5G.
  • Triple rear camera setup.
  • Possible Apple Pencil support.
  • Possible late September launch date.

“The Analyst Who Reveals All of Apple’s Secrets”

If Ming-Chi Kuo says so, it is so. The Taiwanese business technology analyst with a focus on Apple has a strong track record of accurately predicting Apple’s plans. Just recently, he predicted details about the Apple Watch Series 2 and iPhone SE.

Now “The Most Accurate Apple Analyst in the World” reports that the 2019 iPhone’s camera will be its major selling points. The next XS (5.8″) and XS Max (6.5″) will feature a 12MP telephoto lens, 12MP wide-angle lends, and a Sony supplied 12MP super-wide-angle lens. The XR’s successor (6.1″) will have a dual-lens rear camera. No further specifications like megapixels were provided by Kuo.

Leaked Rendered Images

OnLeaks was the first to leak the triple-lens rear camera setup.

The three cameras will be housed in a square patch, and you can tell from the image that there’ll be a protruding bump. Somewhat of an eyesore but Kuo says the phone will adopt “black lens-coating technologies”, which should help blend the camera bump into the bezels for an overall aesthetically pleasing look.

Could the leaks actually be true? Online retailer Mobile Fun has already started selling iPhone 11 cases by third-party accessory maker Olixar. These images from their site give a nice all-around view at the design concept of the iPhone 11, particularly the mute button. It’s now a round button instead of a switch.

With all the leaked images, artists like Hasan Kaymak have taken the leaked concept and 3D rendered them with their own design take on the iPhone 11.

Features

In another report by Kuo, the 2019 phones will feature two-way wireless charging. So you could technically charge your Air Pods or even another iPhone if it ever ran out of juice. And to support such a feature, Kuo believes there’ll be bigger battery packs for the phones. Possibly 10-15 per cent increase for the next XS Max (3,650 mAh) and 20-25 per cent (between 3,200 mAh and 3,500mAh) for the next XS. For the XR? Not so much, just a measly 0-5 per cent.

Don’t expect 5G for the phones releasing in 2019 though. Bloomberg reports that Apple will wait until next year before releasing a 5G ready iPhone.

The iPhone 11’s screen size has been up for debate. Some reports say it’ll stay the same at 6.5″ like the XS Max while others suggest a 6.7″ display.

As for Apple Pen support, it could certainly be a possibility. Sources from The Korea Herald says Apple is considering adding a stylus to its iPhone. Could this be Apple’s answer to Samsung’s S-Pen?

AR Glasses as an iPhone Accessory?

According to Kuo, Apple will market its AR glasses as an iPhone accessory and believes they are mass-producing the glasses Q4 of this year. A 2017 Bloomberg report says the glasses would run on an OS based off iOS, dubbed “rOS” or reality operating system.

If there’s any truth to the leaks, it’s definitely exciting times ahead for Apple fans. After all, September is only two more months away. But I suppose the biggest question is this: how much would you be willing to fork out for the newest iPhones? When the iPhone XS and Max first came out, the $1,000+ price point was quite a surprise. Would you be willing to pay even more for the latest iPhone?
