Hello Kitty lives beyond our TV screens. She’s plastered on our watches, sneakers, hoodies, even chocolates. There’s something so reassuring when we look at our favourite Sanrio character, who’s been many of our childhood companions. Maybe that’s why we were so excited when West Japan Railway Co. announced that a Hello Kitty bullet train is on the way to ride the Sanyo Shinkansen Line.
Shinkansen, or bullet train, is an efficient public transport option for many Japanese who need to beat rush hour to and from school or work. the model 500 Series Shinkansen will be reimagined as a Hello Kitty wonderland, first by a full-on decal with a significant use of her iconic head bow as decoration.
Besides an exterior full with Instagrammable possibilities, in-train activities linked to Hello Kitty can also be expected. More updates on this themed bullet train on the Hello Kitty Shinkansen microsite, which should be enough of a hook for many to book a flight there now.
Hello Kitty Shinkansen operates on the Sanyo Shinkansen Line in Summer 2018.
