They say that there’s nothing more magical than a white Christmas, and we’re inclined to agree. But since a trip to somewhere with snow isn’t always viable, your next best option will be an equally magical wonderland – Disneyland!
And the closest Disneyland in Hong Kong is gearing up for the festive season. Mickey and friends are all ready for Christmas fun with you! Whether you’re visiting Hong Kong Disneyland with your significant other or your family, you’ll be whisked into a wintry wonderland. Here’s what you can expect if you pick Hong Kong Disneyland for your Christmas vacation.
1. Get a white Christmas, Disney style!
You’ll still be able to experience snowfall at the daily parade, Mickey and Friends Christmastime Ball. with new stages and festive songs that you can sing and dance along too. Also, perfect photo ops if you’ve brought along toddlers.
2. Say hi to Cookie, Duffy’s new friend
This year, Duffy has invited her new friend, Cookie to the party! Cookie will be joining
Santa Goofy at the Christmas Post Office on Main Street. If you’re extra lucky, you might even get to take pictures with Duffy, ShellieMay, Gelatoni and StellaLou in their winter’s finest.
3. Check out the Fantasy Gardens Wintertime Market for trinkets and goodies
While you’re there, pick up some gifts before the Magical Twilight Snowfall. Watch the majestic Christmas Tree and Train Station light up during the “A Holiday Wish-Come-True” Tree Lighting Ceremony.
4. Celebrate Mickey’s birthday at his surprise party!
Just in case you weren’t aware of all the Mickey Mouse collabs going around (we’ve seen plenty in just this month), it’s all part of our favourite rodent’s anniversary! The lovable mouse is celebrating his 90th anniversary this year, and Minnie is inviting you along with all her pals for a heartwarming “We Love Mickey” Projection Show Birthday Edition at Main Street, USA Building. Relive Mickey’s milestones and iconic images of his adventures from the past 90 years. And if you’re lucky, you might even be able to spot Mickey dressed in his new birthday suit (an actual costume and not Mickey in the nude).
5. Feast on adorable treats!
You’ll need more than a week if you’re expecting to finish trying ALL of the new snacks and themed desserts. With over 80 new christmas themed food featuring various Disney characters, there’s everything from entree dishes to snacks and an entire high tea selection. Even if you are looking to grab a quick bite, there’s marshmallow and crispy rice lollipops inspired by Mickey and Minnie.
And of course, we’re not surprised that the face of Disney gets an entire buffet to himself. The Micky Mouse Happy birthday Dinner Buffet is only available at Chef Mickey in Hollywood Hotel from 7 to 18 November. Other than a spread of food inspired by Mickey, there’ll also be photo frames and various props for you to take commemorative photos.
6. Limited! Edition! Festive! Merch!
You’ve probably got 1974572048 tsum tsums all lined up above your bed, but do you have the Chip and Dale tsum tsums in a SANTA HAT. The entire holiday includes plushies, figurines, collectible tin cans, baubles, and other Christmas tree decorations. Is this the year for a Disney-themed tree?
And for a more useful memento, get the Mickey Sip Sip cup from those outdoor vending carts. The round cup even comes with a cap with those iconic mouse ears so that you won’t spill your drink – useful both in the office and for your restless kid!
If you’re looking for a more personalised souvenir, there’s also a custom kit where you can create your own holiday cards.
7. Add to your ever-expanding Mickey collection
As we’ve been constantly reminded, this year’s Mickey’s year. And it’s only apt that he has his own line of merchandise for his 90th anniversary Over 50 items, including tees, caps, watches, and figurines. The ultimate collectible is the 18-inch Mickey plushie with a “World’s Biggest Mouse Party” tag and branded with the HKDL logo – you won’t be able to get the same plushie from another Disneyland.
8. The fun doesn’t have to end when night falls if you’re staying the night!
Unfortunately you’re not allowed to sleep in the park when it closes, but there are 3 resorts on site for a comfortable night where the Disney fun doesn’t end. And if you book a stay at the hotel, each room will have a welcome basket filled with even more collectibles! Christmas bedroom slippers, door stickers and an amenity box is there for you to take home. The only thing that you have to think about is if you want to wear those slippers or keep them in pristine condition.
9. Be one of the first to experience the Frozen-themed suite!
You’ll never be able to let it go if you miss this chance! The newly opened Kingdom Club Frozen Suites in the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel brings the icy story of mega-hit Frozen to life. With frosty blue themes and Frozen-inspired decor, pretend that you’re Anna and Elsa.
Kingdom Club also offers personalised services, so you can make this trip a truly memorable and one-of-a-kind experience!
