Take Your Running To Another Level with the Garmin Forerunner 245 Music

Making use of analytics in the professional sports scene to improve performance isn’t new. With high-tech equipment, coaches track their players and team’s statistics across a multitude of areas to improve team performance.

If you’re not a pro athlete but still want access to performance analytics, you’re in luck. With the advancement of smart wearable technology, even you will be able to analyse your performance on a deeper level in order to optimise your running.

And that’s where Garmin comes in.

Announced on 7 May, the Forerunner 245 and Forerunner 245 Music combines the design aspect of their Vivoactive series and the capabilities of the higher-end Forerunner models to create a mid-range device that’ll appeal to running enthusiasts.

Lightweight and stylish, Garmin decided to go with a 5-button design over a touch display for practicality reasons. Having physical buttons help more with navigation, especially if you’re sweating or swimming. And as the “Music” in its name implies, it can hold up to 500 songs. Sync music from your Spotify or transfer it from your computer into the Forerunner 245 for playback on your wireless headset.

Besides the usual features such as tracking continuous heart rate, all-day activity, all-night sleep and delivering smartphone notifications, the Forerunner 245 Music has got even more advanced training features up its sleeve.

Connect a compatible heart rate strap and/or a Running Dynamics Pod and runners can get access to even more data – all visible on the watch. A wrist-based Pulse Ox sensor monitors your blood oxygen levels and the new Body Battery feature lets you know how much you should train based on previous days’ activities.

On top of that, get access to free running training plans with Garmin Coach and get in shape for your half-marathon races. It takes into account your current running details and delivers specific workouts you can follow to prepare for your races.

The smartwatch also comes built with safety measures like its Running Awareness feature. If a fall is detected, it automatically shares your location to a preset emergency contact.

If you’re a serious athlete keen on elevating your performance and require detailed analytics to know exactly where and what you need to do, the Garmin Forerunner 245 will be a solid purchase.
