Lenovo Adds 3 New Devices to Their Think Range Including a Notebook with an E-Ink Display

Given the current status of the COVID-19 global pandemic situation, most of us have been required to continue working from home in an effort to better contain the risk to our health. As such, we’ve been constantly ensuring that our home work stations are equipped enough to mirror our office setting to enhance our productivity.

In line with meeting the needs and demands for the next-generation workforce, Lenovo has introduced their latest line-up of devices — the ThinkBook Plus, ThinkSmart View, and the ThinkPad P14s and P15s — that are built to reimagine productivity and help you better assimilate into the new normal.

Here’s a look at the devices.

This latest ThinkBook notebook model has been designed with purposeful features that will help elevate workplace efficiency. In addition to the main screen, the notebook features Lenovo’s first innovative second e-ink cover display, equipped with intuitive and convenient features that will make it ideal for quick note-taking especially when you’re in a meeting.

Unlike other notebook computers, the idea behind ThinkBook Plus is to give users like you an easier way to stay focused during meetings by ensuring you only receive essential notifications such as calendar appointments, instant messages or important emails when you’re using the cover display for notes using the integrated Precision Pen. This e-ink screen (similar to those in eBook readers) allows you to review documents quickly without distractions and even supports quick annotations that will be transformed into real-time changes in the document.

The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus retails from $2,199 and is available online here.

LENOVO THINKSMART VIEW

Powered by the Qualcomm APQ8053 system-on-chip (SoC), the ThinkSmart View is a dedicated personal communications device that works a bit like a tablet with the ability for you to connect with others easily for meetings or voice calls, freeing up your laptop for other work-related matters during the call.

Made to look like a handheld device, the ThinkSmart View is limited to being a communicative gadget that helps you to manage meetings and calls better. It is built with an 8-inch HD touchscreen display, a built-in 2x 360-degree microphone array with mute button, 10W full-range speakers and a 5MP 720p wide-angle camera. Equipped with an in-built Trueblock privacy shutter and microphone mute, the ThinkSmart View is also able to protect you from being seen or heard when it is not in use.

The Lenovo ThinkSmart View retails from $499 and is expected to be available in July 2020.

If you’re looking for a new high-performing laptop that is both thin and light, the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s or P15s might fit the bill. Available with a 14-inch display (P14s) and 15-inch display (P15s) in 4K UHD with Dolby Vision HDR and X-Rite Pantone Factory Color Calibration for clearer visuals in true colours, the new laptop aims to bring you a suite of high performing features in a portable body, giving you the ability to work wherever you like.

Featuring 10th Gen Intel Core processors, including the Core i7-10810u, with a turbo boost clock speed of 4.9GHz, the laptop is built to handle even the most demanding tasks from users that are in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry who often work with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. In addition to its hardware, the laptop is Wi-Fi 6 ready and is equipped with an NVIDIA Quadro professional graphics card which works excellent for digital content creation. The ThinkPad P14s/P15s also offers up to 2TB of storage capacity if you require more internal storage for your work.

The Lenovo ThinkPad 14s retails from $2,299 while the Lenovo ThinkPad 15s retails from $2,399. Both models are expected to be available in the second half of 2020.
