7 New Skincare Products That Just Launched — Including A Retinol-Infused Facial Oil And SPF-Serum Hybrid

It’s only one month into the new year, and we’ve already got plenty of exciting beauty drops to talk about. From new and necessary additions to bestselling beauty lines, a retinol-infused facial oil, skin-smoothing treatments and an innovative SPF-serum hybrid, consider this the A-list of new beauty launches.

1. YSL Pure Shots Eye Reboot Concentrate

If you’ve read our previous review, it’s kinda obvious that we love the Pure Shots series. So of course we got excited when we saw the announcement of the Eye Reboot Concentrate in our e-mail inbox. The unique cream-to-serum concentrate is infused with Moonlight Cactus Flower from Morocco, similar to the Night Reboot Serum, an ingredient that protects skin cells and regenerates the skin.

What’s different though is that it also includes 1% Caffeine [HL], a Hydro and Lipo dual-caffeine complex, that gets rid of tired-looking eyes so you’ll look more awake and alert. Dark circles, eye bags and lines are reduced as well, while you may expect a smooth texture that instantly melts into the delicate skin around your eyes.

$116, available at all YSL Beauty stores and the YSL Beauty eBoutique.

2. Dior Capture Totale Intensive Essence Lotion

For fans of Dior’s Capture Totale skincare regime, it now feels more complete thanks to the addition of this latest Intensive Essence Lotion. The formidable anti-ageing line is one of the beauty atelier’s star ranges, after 20 years of research on stem cells to seek out the best natural-origin ingredients.

The result? A formula composed of 95% natural-origin ingredients and infused with an exclusive Longoza-Ferments Blend that harnesses the power of the Madagascan “phoenix flower”, known for its revitalising properties. The lotion is further enriched with two types of hyaluronic acid so you’ll notice plump skin, while its key benefits include a strengthened skin barrier, even skin texture, and a natural radiance that’s been restored from within.

$112, available at all Dior Makeup boutiques and counters, and online at the DIOR BEAUTY ONLINE BOUTIQUE.

3. Drunk Elephant A-Gloei Maretinol Oil

Drunk Elephant’s Virgin Marula Oil is pretty famous in its own right, but if you’re looking for even more powerful anti-ageing benefits, this one might be just up your alley. The new A-Gloei Maretinol Oil combines vegan retinol, virgin marula oil and ceramides, for a skin-smoothening treatment that helps with blemishes, fine lines, hyperpigmentation and sun damage.

For those worried about the sensitising side effects of retinol, know that it’s been specifically designed for new and experienced retinol users as soothing marula oil gently delivers retinol to skin, which does away with redness or irritation. Ceramides also replenish the skin barrier, as retinol does the work to clarify and refine the skin, all for the sake of a smooth and clear complexion.

$105, available at SEPHORA.SG and at selected Sephora stores.

4. Sulwhasoo Essential Comfort Line

We don’t know about you, but skin dryness and sensitivity are two major skincare concerns we’ve been experiencing over the last few years, perhaps due to frequent mask-wearing or long hours in front of our digital devices, and thankfully k-beauty brand Sulwhasoo has just the solution — their revamped Essential Comfort line.

In its first complete upgrade in 12 years, involving intensive research of botanicals used in traditional Korean medicine, the new series of four items is made for millennials and Gen Zs, who often experience common skin woes of dry skin, enlarged pores, and increased sensitivity. Here, Sulwhasoo taps on their own JAUM Balancing Complex, comprising of traditional ingredients Yam, Hawthorn Berry, Arrowroot Flowers, Jujube and Mulberry Leaf, each with soothing and moisturising properties that dial down on irritation while replenishing the skin with rich moisture.

$80 – $108, available at all SULWHASOO boutiques and counters.

5. Fenty Skin Pre-Show Glow Instant Retexturizing 10% AHA Treatment

We might not be able to get Riri’s natural glow, now that she just dropped news that she’s expecting her first child, but we can certainly try. The latest skincare product from Fenty Skin is an at-home skin-refining treatment that preps skin ahead of important events and photoshoots, or any time you want to look your best in front of a camera.

A formula of 10% AHAs (glycolic acid, citric acid, lactic acid), revitalising Rooibos, and fruit enzymes and extracts deeply purifies the skin via chemical exfoliation; at the same time, the liquid solution is accompanied by a reusable applicator that you use to work up a plush lather. Unlike exfoliating peels, there’s zero downtime after use, while the self-care routine can be completed in just one minute to then reveal smooth, glowing and photo-ready skin.

$61 ; and $52 for the Refill. available at SEPHORA.SG and Sephora stores.

6. Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Cream

Isn’t Plum Plump just the cutest name for a skincare product? The Plum Plump Hyaluronic Cream from Glow Recipe does everything you’d expect in its name — this one’s a gel cream that gives us plumping hydration, and goes one further by balancing the skin as well, in case you’ve been dealing with the strange ordeals of oily skin that also feels tight, or dry skin that’s breaking out.

The moisturiser packs five molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, which fills the skin layer by layer, while polyglutamic acid locks in moisture for long-lasting hydration. Three types of antioxidant-rich plums are included as well — the kakadu, illawara, burdekin, to be precise — which work together with hyaluronic acid so we see juicy, dewy and bouncy skin.

As a nod to sustainability, you’re also looking at Glow Recipe’s first-ever refillable glass jar, accompanied by a refill pod made of 50% post-consumer recycled material to help reduce CO2 emissions and carton waste.

$57, available at SEPHORA.SG and Sephora stores.

The Daily Dose Vitamin C + SPF40 is a hybrid skincare product that combines the functions of a sunscreen and a serum, with the goal of preventing two main causes of dark spots, UV and blue light.

This first-of-its-kind formula contains a brightening blend of 10% Vitamin C along with Kakadu Plum Extract and Niacinamide, which is then paired with clean chemical SPF. What this does is to both protect the skin and the effectiveness of Vit C, while we also get the added bonus of a boost of Vitamin C’s antioxidant capacity. Your skin will be as protected as can be, with nary an additional step to your routine.
