DWP Guide: Here’s What You Can Expect At This Year’s Djakarta Warehouse Project

The year-end festivities are starting to roll in and one thing’s for sure — we’re all pumped up for festival season! We know, festivals may not be your thang — dealing with long queues for food and drinks, sweaty (and rowdy) crowds, and more queues… over at the portaloos. Ah, the struggle is real.

So what could possibly convince us to head over to a major music festival, especially if it’s one that’s overseas you might ask? Peep this year’s Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) 2019, held from the 13th to 15th December.

Otherwise known as one of the largest annual dance music festivals in Asia, DWP has attracted festival-goers from around the globe, with the simple concept of bringing people together to have a good time, and of course, partying to their heart’s desire.

Now on its 11th year running, DWP has been holding the festivals over at the grounds of Jakarta, Indonesia — with the exception of last year’s DWP, located at Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park in Badung regency Bali, where they celebrated its 10th anniversary — and will be taking over Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran yet again for another year for the books.

So if you’re planning on clearing that leave of yours before the work year ends, or even for a simple getaway with your friends before you deck the halls with boughs of holly, you’ve come to the right page.

THE LINEUP

Earlier on into the year, DWP unveiled their first DJ lineup which introduced prominent names such as Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, Skrillex and Zedd — which evidently spells praises for one of Asia’s biggest electronic music festivals to date.

But it doesn’t just end there. As announced last Thursday evening, the festival has also unveiled their final phase which now sees other top-tier acts like EDM mainstays Krewella, Cash Cash, Yellow Claw, and even multi-platinum selling R&B icon, Tinashe, just to name a few.

With a sick lineup ahead of DWP’s schedule and 5 Mondays away from the start of the New Year, you’d best believe that this year’s DWP will give you a run for your money to kick start your New Year right.
