Facebook and Instagram to Host a Virtual Graduation Ceremony with Oprah Winfrey, Cardi B and More

Following the announcement of YouTube’s Dear 2020 digital graduation ceremony happening on 6 June, it seems that Facebook and Instagram have also signed up to organise a virtual graduation event of their own. Celebrities will either be giving commencement speeches or performing from home, in order to honour that important milestone for graduates who won’t be having a traditional ceremony this year.

The multi-hour live-streaming event on 15 May at 11am (PT) named #Graduation2020: Facebook and Instagram Celebrate the Class of 2020 will be hosted by actors Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak, and see a line-up of more than 70 stars coming together to celebrate the achievements of students who will be graduating this year.

The virtual graduation ceremony will feature an introduction by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg as well as a commencement address from Oprah Winfrey, Cardi B, Selena Gomez, Kristen Bell, Jennifer Garner, and Awkwafina.  The event will even include an appearance by Miley Cyrus who would be performing a special rendition of her song, ‘The Climb’.
