Pandora Goes Artsy With A Keith Haring Collection That Features His Iconic Pop Art Motifs

Keith Haring’s expressive art is about to take over our wrists and more, thanks to this new tie-up with Pandora. The jewellery brand debuts their first-ever art collection inspired by the late New York artist’s contemporary artworks, imbuing the spirit of his imaginative pop art style into charms, rings, bracelets, earrings, and a necklace.

Bright tones and mixed metals are designed to make a statement, with black enamel outlines that nail his playful visual language. “What’s most important is the feeling that the pieces give you, and the energy that you feel by being connected to something meaningful, like an iconic artwork,” said Filippo Ficarelli and Francesco Terzo, Creative Directors of Pandora.

Plenty of Keith Haring’s iconic symbols feature in the collection as well, such as the dancing figures that represent the movement and freedom of humanity, or the walking heart and barking dog that are as much contemporary pop culture icons as they are a part of art history. The 12-piece capsule collection will launch 29 September 2022 across Pandora stores worldwide.

Let’s talk about the standouts. Perhaps because of their chunky silhouettes, we can’t help but notice the new bracelets, earrings and rings from the Keith Haring™ x Pandora collection, especially since they’re infused with quite the edgy, street-style sentiment.

Both the Keith Haring™ x Pandora Two-tone Twisted Finger T-Bar Pendant Necklace and Two-tone Love Links Bracelet are crafted with sterling silver and 14k gold-plated sterling silver, with the mixed metals adding plenty of personality here. On top of that, the necklace is adorned with a charm of the artwork ‘Untitled (Dance)’, influenced by New York City’s hip-hop scene, while the bracelet sees chunky alphabet letters that spell L-O-V-E, a reminder to stay optimistic.

What’s also fun is the iconic ‘dancing heart’ artwork reinterpreted into 14k gold-plated stud earrings, made oversized and designed to dangle off your ear. Needless to say, all the pieces in the collection are unisex as well, as a nod to Haring’s principles of inclusivity and diversity.

The rings happen to be exquisite works of art too. A cut-out style in gold follows the outline of one of Haring’s graffiti-style designs, a wavy figure outlined in black enamel for bold contrast. Then, a bolder style fits in ‘Untitled (Dance)’, ‘the flying man’ and other symbols on sterling silver crafted with a tinge of red enamel.

If you’re here for the charms and accompanying charm bracelets though, we don’t blame you. Pandora’s signature snake chain bracelet sees an artistic twist, with a radiating heart charm elegantly making a statement in pink and black enamel.

The other sterling silver charms complete the collection in a series of bold colours too. Keith Haring’s ‘the barking dog’, a reminder of loyalty and companionship while speaking up, is in a bold red; the ‘angel baby’ piece pairs sterling silver with blue enamel; and energetic line art takes you from day to day, with touches of red representing the dancing figures’ beating hearts.

Two beautifully-designed dangling charms, with Keith Haring’s signature at the back and detail that extends to the loop or a 3-D style design, round off a collection that’s all about self-expression and hope.
