5 Halloween Events to Spook Your October Including the Re-opening of Hell’s Museum at Haw Par Villa

Before the pandemic, October was an exciting month to look forward to with plenty of spooky events line-up for the Halloween season. But, even as the frightful season has somewhat felt a bit quiet with all the respective COVID regulations, it does not mean a completely empty calendar for us ghoulish fanatics come Halloween weekend. Here are 5 Halloween events to get your heart racing this scary weekend!

1. Harrowing Halloween at Singapore Discovery Centre

For the first time, Singapore Discovery Centre will be organising a series of spine-chilling activities around the centre just for those seeking a spooky adventure this Halloween. The line-up includes the Get-Out! Haunted House (in collaboration with Singapore Polytechnic), Horror Flicks at the iWERKS Theatre, Alternative Haunts at the lobby where you can get temporary tattoos and make your own lucky charms; as well as a Permanent Exhibits Gallery: After Dark Tour led by Singapore Story Guides.

When: 29 to 31 October, and 3, 5, 6, 12 & 13 November 2021

2. Hell’s Museum at Haw Par Villa Official Relaunch

Aiming to reinvent the way we look at death and the dying culture, Haw Par Villa has re-opened their Hell’s Museum, which has been transformed into a realm where death and the afterlife meet. The Museum’s experiential exhibition features engaging and comparative insights on how death and the afterlife are viewed and interpreted across different times, religions, and cultures.

The official relaunch weekend will not only include Park Tours but also various wellness and art workshops such as Yoga Under The Stars, and Chinese Ink Painting + Tea Appreciation.

When: 29 to 31 October 2021

3. Murder At Old Changi Hospital: The Haunting (Virtual Escape Room)

If you loved Murder at Mandai Camp, you’ll probably be game for Murder at Old Changi Hospital — a virtual escape room that mixes choose-your-own-adventure virtual gameplay with theatric storytelling. Written by award-winning playwright Chong Tze Chien, you are invited to join a fellow paranormal investigator (played by Bright Ong) to uncover the events leading up to the alleged murder of a young canteen worker in 1996 (played by Munah Bagharib), and the disappearance of the four Commandos who were associated with the victim.

4. Museum of Ice Cream Singapore — Halloween at The Museum

For a limited time this October, the Museum of Ice Cream Singapore will be celebrating Halloween as it turns its 14 installations into a haunted town with spooky-themed ice cream treats. As part of their first-ever themed celebration, you are invited to come dressed in your best Halloween costume to join the festivities!

5. Tricks & Thrills at Universal Studios Singapore

Although the exciting Halloween Horror Nights has been postponed for yet another year, you can still revisit the frights of yesteryears at the first-ever Universal Studios Singapore Halloween Horror Nights Exhibition. The exhibition will showcase the terrifying displays, horrific props, and deadly facts behind 9 years of the park’s most-visited event.

As part of Universal Studios Singapore’s After Dark special, you’ll also get a chance to meet some of Universal’s most famous monsters such as Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Bride of Frankenstein at the Universal Monsters Scream Alley.
