Japanese luxury label COMME des GARÇONS’ (CDG) diffusion lines are known for their knack for intelligent design with a mass appeal. Take, for example, the label’s PLAY line, whose decade strong collaboration with Converse’s canvas sneakers to feature its heart-with-eyes icon has been perpetually in-demand since it was first released in 2009. And who can forget the must-have CDG Shirt Kraft Paper with PVC tote bags too?
The CDG Kraft Paper tote bags were made to resemble the same paper shopping bag that comes with your purchase from the luxury label — and it’s exactly that. But it also comes reinforced with a PVC outer coating, and a spacious canvas-lined interior, that makes the bag durable for everyday use.
Since its notable surge in popularity from its first appearance, the humble-looking and dare-we-say affordable (<$300) luxury bag has since had several seasonal makeovers over the last couple years to accommodate more designs. Which includes a sold-out Gucci collaboration piece that was produced in limited quantities worldwide.
As of late though, CDG has dialled down on expanding seasonal designs for the aforementioned Kraft Paper tote bags (which makes sense, since its debut design is still a best-selling product across many luxury sites online), and is instead offering bags made simply in lightweight PVC.

The latest design from their line of PVC tote bags features a Doughnuts & Cupcakes print that comes available in either turquoise green or grape jam doughnut-filling purple. Measuring 36cm by 37cm by 23cm, this spacious bag is easily foldable and would be handy to whip out when you have to go for a last-minute grocery run.
Priced at $80 or $82, depending on whichever online site you prefer shopping at, this bag is as affordable as it gets for a luxury bag. And if history is anything to go by, then these are likely to sell out in a blink of an eye. So move fast and snag one before they’re all gone.
